First, a huge thank you to everyone who attended our most recent Gap Year meeting last Saturday. Philosophizing about death was a hit! It’s always a pleasure to chat about classic works1 with you all. We’re lucky to have you in our life!
I’m pleased to announce our next reading: Ovid’s Metamorphoses!
Written in the 8th Century CE this epic poetic work includes more than 250 tales of transformations, beginning with the creation of our world. We’re going to be reading the Penguin Classics edition, translated by David Raeburn. There are many free audio recordings you could listen to - but they are mostly likely not the same translation.
We’ll meet towards the end of October to discuss this text. Please use the link below to vote on a date that works best for you.
I also hope to bring back food for this event. Perhaps a Greek themed potluck?
Finally, this week I hope to interview Robbie for our Gap Year Podcast! Look for that in the next week.
Once again, thank you for being a part of this Classics bookclub!
