[RSVP] Tao Te Ching Menu
Hello everyone! We’re excited to invite you into our home once again for our next installment of The Gap Year! I’m almost finished with this short little book and I’ve really enjoyed it.
I’ve also really enjoyed thinking of a menu to accompany this evening! After reading more about Lao Tzu and the supposed life of the man, if he was indeed a real man, he probably came from the historic State of Chu, or modern day Henan. Henan is called the “birthplace of Chinese civilization.” A very popular food in this northern Chinese state, and across China too, are bao. When many bao are served together in a tapas -small plates style it’s called dim sum.
Dim sum translates to “touching heart”, which I felt was perfect to serve alongside a text that seems to care deeply about our hearts. Dim sum is often eaten in large groups, always family style. It’s about sharing a meal with loved ones and it’s always accompanied by hot tea.
Below you will find the dim sum inspired menu I created. Please [RSVP HERE] to let us know if you will be joining us.
Love,
Jen
ps. Tomorrow I’ll be sharing two video links. One about dim sum, the other about Tao Te Ching.
