Hello everyone! We are excited to present the final installment for our Summer 2021 Gap Year bookclub. But don’t worry, you haven’t seen the end of The Gap Year!

Second, the menu! My favorite part of this project has been thinking about the food! Beowulf and the great halls of 6th century Denmark conjure up images of a traditional Scandi Smörgåsbord! Meats, cheeses, bread, alcohol; and all of it in excess! Historic bar food!
In the intro Headley says “I did a lot of time imagining the narrator as an old-timer at the end of the bar, periodically pounding his glass and demanding another.” So, what could I make to resemble this communal Smörgåsbord table meal, but make it a meal you might find in a bar?
BBQ Pork Ribs, with all the fixings, of course!!
